Encryption Application for Android
I am working on an Encryption Project for a long time and thinking about porting it to Android, just to see how it goes. A low price is what I consider to set for it, such as 0.99$ or 1.99$, as my real goal is to get involved in the Google Play world.
I am currently keen on Visual Basic (I worked for five years on Visual Studio 2005 and 2008) but currently use Gambas (which is the closest VB relative under Linux). I also have some programming skills with C (which is the original language for my project) and C++. Unfortunately, I have no experience with Java yet...
To start with, which language do you think is better for me to use? Having found basic4ppc.com, I'm not comfortable with it as it seems to be proprietary. I'm also thinking about using the Android Studio (currently under development - yet usable) by Google. However, I read that using the NDK (as I only know C/C++, not Java) will cause more trouble than good. What is more, application development will be done under Fedora Linux. What do you suggest?
The most important question is left for last. I read there are some restrictions for encryption applications; concerning the Key Strength, the distribution etc. Under no circumstances would I ever risk to be illegal or cause any kind of problems! My country of residence is Greece (unfortunately). Considering all these, do you think it is a good idea to continue with an encryption application, or better keep it to myself and find another Project? Does anybody have more information on the Legal Issues?
Any answer or opinion is welcome! :D
Thanks in Advance, @ngel
